The 2023 CHRISTMAS LECTURES from the Royal Institution will reveal the truth about the most rapidly evolving and headline-grabbing field in modern science: Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Your students will likely have interacted with AI tools, like ChatGPT, already, and they may have heard some exciting claims about where the technology might take us.
Using the AI Debate Kit, your students will explore the benefits and risks that AI poses to individuals and society, now and in the future.
What decisions should be made by AI? What data is needed to support these decisions? Does AI pose a threat to our own intelligence or bolster it?
Support your KS3 and KS4 students to explore new positions and perspectives through 8 thought-provoking character cards.
The Kit is designed to facilitate a debate lasting around 50 minutes, requires very little preparation, and is free to schools in the UK.
Kits will arrive in schools in the new term (January 2024).
The AI Debate Kit is produced by the I’m a Scientist team on behalf of the Royal Institution. Funded by the Ri’s CHRISTMAS LECTURES title partner CGI, along with fellow CHRISTMAS LECTURES partner UKRI.
